AOI Manufacturer Lloyd Doyle Limited has announced a further order for Excalibur equipment from Japanese owned Yamamoto Mfg. Inc.

The Excalibur 5000X and Sabre verification station have been installed at Yamamoto's US-based PCB manufacturing facility at Beaverton, Oregon. This plant is geared to producing complex PCBs with high layer counts and sub-5mil lines to be used in a broad range of high tech products.

The company has also recently announced sales to companies in the USA and China. Based on the success of the original systems, Sanmina has installed an Excalibur 4000X at Plant 4, Mountain View, California alongside the existing Excalibur 4000XEF and Scimitar verification station. The new unit will be inspecting inner layers as part of the Sanmina Corporation's increasing telecommunications business. The installations are being handled by Lloyd Doyle's US subsidiary Lloyd Doyle Inc.

Lloyd Doyle Limited recently concluded the sale of an Excalibur 4000Xm and Rapier verification station to Zhuhai, China-based manufacturer Vastbright.

Vastbright's confidence in purchasing the netlist based AOI product is aimed directly at further improving both yield and quality of their four- and eight-layer printed circuit boards.

"This is a first for Lloyd Doyle in the new industrial zone in the Guangdong region of China" said sales manager John Withers "and we are sure it will be the first of many".
