LeaRonal has introduced a new improved tin lead stripper. Ronastrip TL-98 is a non-peroxide, non-fluoride, non-thiourea containing process, designed for the rapid stripping of tin or tin-lead from copper and copper alloys.

The stripper can be used in both dip and spray applications and will be welcomed by the printed circuit board industry, as it is suitable for removing tin, tin-lead and hot air levelled tin-lead coatings.

Stripping rates of around 20 microns per minute are attainable in spray conditions, depending on agitation rate and temperature. Attack on copper is minimal at less than 0.1 microns per minute, and the copper surface is left in excellent condition for subsequent processing.

Ronastrip TL-98 will dissolve up to 180g/l total tin and lead before exhaustion. Tin and lead salts are readily removed from spent solutions by simple neutralisation.
