AlliedSignal Inc. have announced senior executive appointments in their Electronic Materials business unit

The appointments are: Vicki Panhuise to Vice-President of Technology Electronic Materials; Ellen McCoy to Director of Business Development; and Shu Li to Vice-President and General Manager of AlliedSignal Substrate & Interconnects (ASTI), a strategic business enterprise within Electronic Materials.

Panhuise will be responsible for technology development, and also the business's efforts in assessing new technology applications for electronic materials and solutions. She joined AlliedSignal in 1980 in its Aerospace and Garrett Turbine Engine Company. Her most recent assignment was Site General Manager of AlliedSignal's Aerospace Equipment Systems operations in Tucson, Arizona.

Panhuise holds a BA degree in mathematics from Wells College in Aurora, New York and an MS degree and a PhD in nuclear engineering from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She is currently pursuing an MBA at the University of Arizona.

McCoy will lead business and strategic development efforts, as well as joint venture activities, acquisition initiatives, and the development of growth strategies in the business's targeted markets.

She joined AlliedSignal in 1996 in the Laminates Systems business and most recently directed marketing and strategy development for Electronic Materials' Growth Center.

Before joining AlliedSignal, she held various product, sales and marketing management positions at Sheldahl Inc., Dow Chemical and Pitney Bowes. She holds a BS degree in engineering and business from Michigan State University.

Li will lead the ASTI operations to develop and manufacture single and multi-layer high density packaging solutions utilizing advanced material sets such as thin core flexible materials.

He joined AlliedSignal in 1994 and held a variety of senior executive positions in engineering, operations, and general management.

As Vice-President and General Manager of Commercial Spares and Total Logistics Services, he oversaw a $1.6 billion worldwide distribution operations for aerospace spares and rotables. Prior to AlliedSignal, he held key positions in manufacturing, R&D, and technology development with Motorola and Intel. He holds an MS in electrical engineering and computer sciences from the University of Illinois; and a BS in electrical engineering from Huazhong University of Sciences and Technology in China; and a PhD in operations research/management from Harvard University. He serves as an Honorary Adviser to the Association of Chinese Scientists and Engineers.
