Richard G. Fanelli, president and CEO of Enthone-OMI Inc. announced his retirement effective, May 31, 2000.

Mr Fanelli began his career with the company in 1964 as a sales engineer, subsequently serving as general manager of Enthone's Midwest Division from 1971 to 1979 where he was instrumental in spearheading the company's entry into the electronics market. In 1979 he was elected vice president, marketing; in 1982 he was elected vice president, sales and marketing. In 1989 he was promoted to the position of executive vice president and chief operating officer. On 1 May 1992, Mr Fanelli assumed the duties of President and CEO of Enthone-OMI Inc. During his 35+ years with the company, Mr Fanelli has been instrumental in helping to mold Enthone into a strong international industry force.

During Mr Fanelli's tenure as president and CEO of Enthone-OMI, sales grew from $250 million to over $360 million with a dramatic increase in profitability. Since 1990, the company made ten acquisitions worldwide, while divesting under-performing businesses in the USA and Europe. Since the acquisition of Enthone by Cookson Group plc in January 2000, Mr Fanelli has played a key role in helping to integrate theEnthone businesses into Cookson Electronics.
