Arthur Huenecke joins IPC as chief information officer

Article Type: Appointments From: Circuit World, Volume 35, Issue 2

IPC have announced the addition of Arthur (Art) Huenecke to its staff. As chief information officer (CIO), a newly created position at IPC, Huenecke is responsible for establishing information technology (IT) strategy and design, strengthening and leveraging IPC’s information infrastructure, providing leadership and vision for IPC applications and databases, overseeing development and maintenance of company applications and databases, developing policies and procedures for application development, system security, data integrity, and ensuring that IT staff support IPC business requirements.

With more than 15 years experience in business and information systems management, planning and processing, Huenecke most recently served as integrated business systems manager at Elkay Manufacturing, a plumbing products, cabinetry and water dispensing company, in Oak Brook, Ill. Prior to Elkay Manufacturing, he worked at Flextronics in Oak Brook Terrace, Ill., as IT Director.

“The role of the CIO is not about technology; it’s about the ability of IPC to achieve its goals and objectives through technology,” says Denny McGuirk, IPC president. “Information technology (IT) is a strategic resource. The CIO is responsible for IT policy development and a key player in the development and implementation of IPC’s long-range plan. Art is well-versed in enterprise information systems. Having worked in our industry makes Art a perfect fit as our new CIO.”

Huenecke holds a Bachelor of science degree in finance and a Master’s degree in management information systems from Northern Illinois University. He can be reached at: Tel.: +1 847-597-2832; E-mail: ArtHuenecke@ipc.org
