Somacis Italy awarded first Nadcap AC7119/3 accreditation

Article Type: Industry news From: Circuit World, Volume 37, Issue 4

Somacis Spa, continuing their vanguard position in the European printed circuit board (PCB) industry, are pleased to announce that they are now the first PCB manufacturer in the world to achieve Nadcap AC7119/3, the new electronics high density interconnect (HDI) PCB accreditation at their plant in Castelfidardo, Italy.

There are currently but a handful of companies accredited to the AC7119/3 (HDI) requirements worldwide, and of these Somacis was the first. Furthermore, the audit at their Manfredonia plant was most successful and they have been awarded a Merit class extension up to 24 months, the maximum ever achieved.

Nadcap is the leading worldwide co-operative program of major companies designed to manage a cost-effective consensus approach to special processes and products thus providing continual improvement within the aerospace industry. The electronics task group has established an initial scope that covers PCBs (rigid and flex), printed circuit assemblies, and cables and harnesses. The checklists being developed are based upon IPC standards. Past and future ElectronicsTask Group meeting minutes, as well as agendas, are posted on the PRI web site. Somacis was the first European company accredited to, and an active member ever since, of the ETG since its creation in 2004.

“Being a technical reference for all our customers is a fundamental part of the Somacis mission. Since the beginning we invested in the Nadcap program in order to underline the excellence of our products and our services” said Giovanni Tridenti, President and CEO of Somacis. “Somacis was proud to be one of the two PCB companies that took part to the ETG from the beginning. It is within our DNA to be a reference and a warranty in the market sectors where service, quality and reliability are key factors”.

“We expend all our energies to demonstrate that we have robust quality systems that cover all the aspects of the PCB production”, said Cristiano Bazzi, Quality Manager of Somacis. “We are used to working with the main OEM and EMS companies from a huge variety of sectors (medical, aerospace, defence, etc.) and they are extremely demanding concerning the quality of their products”.

Somacis is proud to have crossed the finishing line for this demanding new accreditation, and with such success behind them they are enervated to meet any new challenge. Effort=achievement. Achievement=success.
