Purpose – Looks at how the world wide web has transformed the quality of online education. Design/methodology/approach – Quotes management education experts on how the Internet has improved information flows, interaction and collaboration and, illustrating with examples, highlights how the “network effect” has changed the ways in which schools and students communicate online. Examines how the recession is impacting on the different types of online learning and provides examples of how the sector is being affected by the pace of technological change.
