AbstractIn the 25 years that I have worked in professional development initiatives, I have come across two persistent challenges in face-to-face initiatives. They are those that continue with traditional lecture-based workshops from experts, aided by the ubiquitous, text-based slides, and those that include activities such as case studies, yet fail to unleash their learning potential because of inadequate or absent debriefing. Changing training workshops into purposeful learning initiatives can create a paradigm shift that goes beyond the specific event. This article shares what I have learned about how to accomplish this shift towards facilitation.ISSN: 2042-9797Article type: Case studyReference: 41AJ924
