Abstract

The workers' continuing education scheme at the Colombo campus of the University of Sri Lanka (Ceylon), started three years ago, has, in the opinion of the council of management, been so successful that it was extended last year to the campus at Peradeniya; and it is hoped that similar courses will be started on two more campuses this year. A unique feature is that 22 students who obtained honours at the end‐of‐course examination in 1972, and 58 who obtained honours in 1973, have been admitted to a three‐year degree course at the University in “Development Studies”, a job‐orientated course.
