An Expert System for Advanced Data Analysis and Data Retrieval

Abstract

When a user of a data bank provides a search profile numerous excellent query programs are available to search the data base. But the composition of the search profile is a task only human beings can perform. In this article a tool is presented which elevates a given search profile to a profile that gives answers to a client's problem and not only to the client's question or the translation of that question into a search profile. The tool in question is an expert system and this article introduces expert systems in general and the above‐mentioned interface in particular.
