Taking up the Challenge: The Pepperell Unit

Abstract

In 1952, Elizabeth Pepperell—the then Assistant Director of the Industrial Society—ran the first all‐women conference, specifically to encourage the development of women at work. Sixty attended, and thus began the Industrial Society's work for women which has been maintained ever since.
