Women in Management: The Trade Unions' Role
Sue Slipman
(Sue Slipman was born in 1950 and educated at the University of Wales, University of Leeds and London University. She has a BA Hons degree in English and a Postgraduate Certificate of Education. In 1975 she became secretary of the National Union of Students, and she later became National President. In 1978 she took up a research position with the Advisory Council for Adult and Continuing Education. She joined the National Union of Public Employees as an area officer a year later and was appointed Director of the National Council for One Parent Families in 1985. During the last ten years Sue Slipman has held many voluntary positions with organizations including the British Youth Council, the Parliamentary Youth Affairs Lobby and the Women's National Commission)

Abstract
At the IoD/Working Woman conference, Sue Slipman attacked the Government's record on equality issues. She also described the barriers and opportunities to be found in the trade union movement.
