Abstract

This table shows similarities and differences between definitions used for space planning in office and educational buildings. Common features are the areas used for mechanical plant and services, lifts, ducts, structure and WCs called core in offices and balance areas in educational buildings, and areas used for circulation called primary circulation in offices, to distinguish them from areas around desks, called secondary circulation.
