Abstract

In the increasingly competitive telecommunications market British Telecom, a major user of products, has recognised procurement as a critical weapon in the fight to meet the higher expectation of its customers. Roy Peacock, BT's director of Materials Procurement, outlines some of the factors which have given cause for changes of procurement strategy over the last 30 years. This has led to a new approach, the supplier quality strategy.
