The Journalist, Accuracy and his Reference Books

Abstract

There is an old saying among journalists: “When in doubt, leave it out!” It is sound advice, but if it were the only working rule, little would be left to appear in the newspaper. A more serviceable maxim would be: “When in doubt, look it up!”
