Abstract

Circular 9/60 and after—Birmingham Takes Action. The ministry of education issued its Circular 9/60, entitled ‘The Education Service and Training for Industry’, on June 29th, 1960. As mentioned in our last issue, its purpose is to “suggest certain ways in which local education authorities can co‐operate with industry in increasing the opportunities open to young people of training for skilled employment, particularly during the next few years when there will be an exceptional rise in the numbers leaving school”.
