Abstract

The sorry, cynical, but relentless liquidation of the professional training officer continues unabated at the Engineering ITB. Denied a place on the Board because of the form of the Act, he has clung to the hope that certain of the important permanent official posts would be filled by people drawn from the industrial training profession. One after another the posts on the Engineering ITB have been filled by people from outside the profession. Those who sought to excuse the exclusion of the training officer from the higher ranks of his own business have always fallen back on the comforting assertion that at least the Chief Training Officer would be appointed from the ranks of the profession.
