The General Council and confusion
Abstract
In London on 1 November last, the Joint Committee of Teachers' Associations called a conference to outline developments in their abortive attempt to achieve formation of a working party to consider the establishment of a Teachers' General Council. Over the previous six years seven teachers' organizations (from the ATTI, through the ubiquitous NUT, to God help us the Headmasters' Conference) has parleyed over the establishment of such a council.
