Abstract

Examinations have always presented problems, for both candidates and examiners. Examinations, at whatever level, are a nuisance to most people who have to take them. Candidates are involved in hours of swotting, or they are ‘not good’ at examinations, or they feel the questions are unfair in their lack of coverage of the syllabus, or they suffer from the enervating effects of examinations continuing for long periods, often over several days.
