Abstract
The Society for Research into Higher Education can generally be relied upon to produce interesting reports and monographs. To most people, methods of assessing the postgraduate training of doctors aiming at general practice might seem to be of only limited interest; but there is material of general applicability in the further and higher education world for those who care to read The Assessment of Postgraduate Training in General Practice by James Freeman and Patrick S. Byrn (SRHE, University of Surrey, Guildford, £2.90).
