Abstract

There are problems in the funding of Advanced Further Education through a ‘capped pool’ which have not yet emerged. Most conspicuous among them is the lack of clarity at present about the effect of any large‐scale transfer of non‐poolable work to the poolable category. It may be argued that the Government would never permit this to occur. But it is already committed to one such transfer when, in 1982, the new Technician Education Council DATEC courses in Art and Design come on stream.
