Viewpoint: Short in wind as in memory long

Abstract

The world's population is ageing. For the first time in history we are seeing the worldwide emergence of a new generation — the over 60s. By the end of the century, it is expected that there will be twice as many people alive over the age of 60 as there were in 1970.
