Abstract

The Coombe Lodge studies had their origin in seminars between the Staff College and the British Council some eight or nine years ago. The DES requested these two bodies to organise a series of visits abroad to study vocational education, and the papers represent the outcome of those visits. Coombe Lodge now claims to possess the largest and most up‐to‐date collection of information on vocational education and training in the Federal Republic of Germany to be found anywhere in the UK. There are a dozen titles in the first series ranging in price from £2.50 to £3 a copy; some have been up‐dated in 1983 and later.
