Abstract

The economic climate has continued to affect interlibrary lending and the indications are that it may be some time before the growth of three years ago is resumed. Nevertheless it has been a year of some importance and much consideration has been given to the future pattern of interlending in the UK. Discussions on the work of the British Library Ad hoc Working Party on Union Catalogues and the report of the Library and Information Service Council have only just begun. They will undoubtedly continue for some time and in due course should have a significant effect on interlending operations in this country.
