VALUE CENTRES — THE EVOLUTION OF THE CASH AND CARRY CONCEPT
Abstract
Whilst still getting the major part of its turnover from grocery, Value Centres are steadily diversifying into non‐food areas; which particular areas to penetrate is left largely to the decision of the local wholesaler. With something approaching 10% of total CandC trade in the UK, Value Centres have recently gained some attention through being the first CandC group to launch a promotion aimed at shoppers.
