How velocity coding controls staff costs: POS system in Co‐op supermarket
Abstract
POS systems are more frequently thought of as being appropriate to the larger retail unit. That they can in fact bring substantial benefits to the smaller unit is shown in this description of a Hugin 310 system in operation in a 14,000 sq ft co‐op supermarket in Diss, Norfolk, with a weekly turnover of £62,500. RDM talked to David Fuller, chief executive officer of Diss Co‐operative Society, and asked him to assess the benefits provided by the installation.
