Abstract

At last the facilities manager is being given the attention he deserves. Speaking in April to the Manchester Society of Architects, Sir Monty Finniston had this to say: ‘I should like the architect to become involved in what I believe the Americans call “facilities management”, giving constant attention to improving the efficiency of the building… enhancing the environment inside…and keeping it in good repair, [providing] the after‐sales service which is often lacking.’
