Abstract

If rewards could make Pavlov's dog bark, then bright colours might make idle office workers pound faster at their keyboards. Unfortunately both for managers and architects it is not as easy as that: at least one hundred thousand other factors (such as pay, what you had for breakfast, promotional prospects) intervene between the simple physical environment and productivity.
