Abstract

Sometimes it seems that the chief product of administration is paper. Paper copy is still the favourite medium of communication in and between offices of all kinds, which creates a volume of material whose size is a problem in itself and whose management demands further supportive skills. In the electronic office of the future, we are assured, the computer will solve this problem: in practice, however, it has been observed to make its own contribution to the difficulty. Meanwhile, microfilm recording continues to provide a solution, chiefly on account of its simplicity, ease of handling and distribution and finally its economy.
