Abstract

Modern science has made a reality of the robot in the form of the automatic control instruments which are now playing such a large part in industry, allowing for increased production, with better‐quality products, lower overheads, better working conditions and more efficient laboratory research. At the British Instrument Industries' Exhibition, held at Earls Court, London, from June 28 to July 9, it was obvious that instruments such as those described below, for automatic measurement, calculation and control, will have an increasingly important role in the search for efficiency and accuracy both in experimental and industrial fields.
