Abstract

IN theory, nickel, like silver, is proof against caustic alkalis. But as neither the metals nor the alkalis are pure, this is not the case in practice and, in order to provide cathodic protection, it is necessary to know the factors determining the rate of such corrosion. These factors have been outlined by P. A. Hembold in the French journal Corrosion et Anticorrosion recently.
