Abstract

TRAWLERS AND CORROSION. Some interesting economic sidelights on the benefits of cathodic protection of shipping were recently given by Mr. M. G. Duff, a pioneer in this field, who told the Grimsby Institute of Engineers and Shipbuilders that a simple device to control corrosion can cut the fuel bill of a 115‐ft. trawler by £500 p.a. and effect a further saving of at least £220 p.a. in maintenance and repairs.
