Abstract

Losses due to overspray can be as high as 50% with certain shapes, and it is the aim of this article to show that with the use of new techniques, it is possible considerably to reduce these losses. It is shown there is a strong case for motion study in connection with the use of spray guns; the system used with one item cannot always be used for another and detailed study of spraying technique for each item is recommended.
