Abstract

The Armstrong Whitworth Argosy is a maid‐of‐all‐work type of aircraft, suitable for both military and civil operation. Fatigue tests on a complete aircraft have proved that it is possible to achieve and exceed a safe life period of 30,000 flying hours. As will be shown here, corrosion prevention is easier than cure.
