Abstract

The Third Congress of the European Federation of Corrosion held in the Free University, Brussels, during the period June 4–6 attracted about 600 delegates from more than 20 different countries. The Congress had been divided into six Sections running consecutively so that, if they wished, participants could attend every session. With this form of organisation, time for delivery and discussion of each Paper was limited to about 20 minutes. The full text of some 75 Papers had, however, been circulated well beforehand so that delegates had time to consider any contribution they might wish to make to the discussion.
