Abstract

Counting the cost. ACCURATE estimates of actual financial losses due to corrosion are impossible, but the latest set of figures to reach us does seem to err on the side of conservatism. However this may be, the annual cost of corrosion control has recently been roughly estimated at £37,500,000 in India, £195,000,000 in the U.K., £146,250,000 in Australia, £112,500,000 in Canada, and over £3,000,000,000 in the U.S.A.
