Abstract

An acid cooler consists of banks of cast iron tubes containing the acid. Cooling is achieved by spraying sea‐water over the tubes. To eliminate the danger of the water and acid mixing it is necessary to protect the tubes against corrosion, particularly pitting corrosion.
