Pipeline protection using conversion coating technology

Abstract

Pipeline protection of buried or submerged pipelines using chemical pretreatment prior to coating was, it is stated, pioneered by Pyrene Chemical Services Ltd with the launch of its Accomet PC process in 1984. Since its launch Accomet PC has rapidly gained acceptance in the pipeline industry and has now been used by pipe‐coaters throughout the world on more than 1,000km of pipe.
