Mead Data Central: positioned for the future

Abstract

From a modest start‐up in Ohio only fifteen years ago, with the initial LEXIS legal research service, Mead Data Central (MDC) has grown and evolved into multiple services using a massive databank of legal, business and general news and information that continues to grow every day. The company is now a major player in the rapidly developing electronic publishing industry, with offices in thirty cities, 1300 employees and international partners in Britain and France. It's customer list has grown at a compound annual rate of 55% during the last few years, and over 250,000 users have been trained.
