Abstract

Small libraries that do not have a development officer on staff to conduct fundraising efforts may decide to engage the help of a consultant. Based on the experiences of the Davenport Public Library, local consultants who are familiar with the power base in the library's community may have an advantage over library fundraising experts who do not. The article discusses feasibility studies, organizational plans, and solicitation methods used in waging a successful campaign.
