Abstract

A GROUND engineer licensed in category “B” is an inspector who is responsible for the inspection of an aircraft after overhaul. This being so, he is responsible from the raw material to the finished aircraft, and as in the course of overhaul any part thereof may have to be reconstructed or replaced, one cannot do better in these opening remarks than refer to the chart appearing in Inspection Leaflet 1, which with other inspection leaflets may be found in the Airworthiness Handbook. The ground engineer may be required to certify for one or all of the stages of inspection shown in this chart, and, accordingly, the writer proposes to refer to the various subjects as they appear therein.
