Abstract

THE evolution of aeroplane design in the few years immediately past has immeasurably increased the difficulties of the stress department of the drawing office. One cannot help feeling with what regrets stress workers must look back to the days, only a short time ago, when the aeroplane wing was a simple box‐girder structure of comparatively easy form.
