Abstract

THE War Damage Amendment Act, 1942, is a substantial measure and it amends the War Damage Act, 1941, in a number of important respects. There are also some amendments of the Business Scheme under that Act and, further, of the Commodity Insurance Scheme under the War Risks Insurance Acts. We propose to confine this article to a consideration of the Amendments of the Immovable Property Scheme. Protection under the scheme is extended indefinitely, but on the other hand no further increase of the burden of contributions is at present contemplated. The number and amount of the contributions remain unchanged. They are subject to review, however, if and when occasion demands.
