Abstract

IN an earlier paper we showed that the calculation of the thermodynamic properties of gases obeying the perfect gas law, but having variable specific heats, can be considerably simplified. We introduced a constant, k, which depended solely on the composition of the gas, and was linked with the parts by volume x, of the combustion gas with the aid of the following formula:
