Abstract

MORE than we ever remember this has been a season of Conferences. Advantage has been taken this year as never before of the incidence of the S.B.A.C. Display to bring together those visiting this country for the occasion—or to lure hither some who might otherwise not have come—to discuss various matters appertaining to aeronautics. Among these occasions have been the Anglo‐American Conference, the papers read at which we dealt with last month, the I.A.T.A. Meetings—a domestic matter of the air‐line operators with which we are not directly concerned—and the second International Congress on Astronautics, which competed for interest with the Brighton meetings in the week before the Display. We had intended to cover the papers read in this symposium on satellite vehicles by publishing summaries of them this month, but most unfortunately we have had to hold them over till next month owing to extreme pressure on our space; which has also caused postponement of the appearance of several other contributions which are already set up in type, including a complete list of the S.B.A.C. Standards which constitutes an appendix to MR BOWYER'S article last month.
