Abstract

Dr W. Ker Wilson is an acknowledged authority on matters relating to vibration; anything therefore coming from his pen deserves attention, but a third edition of his book on the Solution of Torsional Vibration Problems deserves respect. The very fact that this well‐known work has reached the third edition constitutes a proof, if proof be needed, that it satisfies a real want. It is no exaggeration to say that there is hardly any paper, publication, or anything at all written on the subject of vibrations which docs not make free reference to Dr Wilson's work. Even a casual examination makes the reason for it clear. It explains in simple language that any practising engineer can easily follow, the solution to any problem without having to make reference to any high sounding or involved theories. Furthermore the information is so well classified and presented that only a minimum of reading is necessary to find an answer to any problem.
