Defence and the Industry

Abstract

SO much has already been said and written on the recent White Paper on Defence that it is with some hesitation that we ourselves turn to this subject. However, as the future structure of the aircraft industry is closely dependent upon defence policy, it is a subject of interest to all who work in the industry, or in the Ministries. Perhaps it is as well to begin by quoting the sections of the White Paper of the greatest interest to the aircraft industry. First, under the heading ‘Central Reserve’ is a reference to the equipment of Transport Command:
