The Future

Abstract

DESPITE the official assessment of 1959 as another record year thus far for the British aircraft industry it is apparent that the years ahead will necessitate a bold, new policy on the part of the Government, and a policy that must be implemented with the minimum of delay. Present Government policy inclines towards a desire to see an industry which is substantially self‐supporting, and certainly able to compete on favourable terms with foreign industry with a minimum of assistance from the Government.
