Abstract

A wing for aircraft has an aerofoil section profile wherein the upper contour is formed from a radius of curvature R1 = 0·91071C drawn from the leading edge to the position N of maximum thickness of the wing and a radius of curvature R2 = 1·94761C where C is the chord of the wing and the position of maximum thickness is located at a position 0·42857C behind the leading edge. The lower contour is formed by a straight line which terminates at the trailing edge in a short portion having a slight upward curvature.
