Abstract

De Havilland Propellers Ltd., Hatfield, Herts have produced a miniature rate gyro for use where compactness, low weight, and reliability are of prime importance. Designed to reduce the complex and delicate nature of a missile instrument pack, it has been developed to the stage where it can be considered as a thermionic valve with the transfer function of a rate gyro. The gyro is hermetically sealed and consists of three basic units, the gyro rotor, spring and pick‐off.
